Job Overview:

The Logistics Associate is responsible for execution of inbound and outbound shipping and keeping customers updated on fulfillment of their orders. Individuals will work with manufacturers to coordinate fulfillment of their purchase orders. This role will assist with loading and unloading shipments when needed, as well as             assisting the Warehouse Manager. Drives all safety, quality and consistency initiatives for logistics operations, using uniform procedures and best-practices               developed in coordination with other department leaders.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Booking of outbound shipments.
  • Coordination of inbound shipments.
  • Creation of packing slips & bills of lading for outgoing shipments.
  • Identifying any missing, lost or damaged materials and immediately notifying supervisor.
  • Ensuring that all the materials are safely and securely packed and labeled for shipping.
  • Generating labels to ensure products are shipped to the right destination.
  • Communicates daily with sales team regarding available materials in stock.
  • Ensures compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Quality control & warranty servicing on select product lines.

Qualifications/ Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Preferred 1 year of prior experience in logistics, or equivalent experience.
  • Forklift certified or ability to become forklift certified.
  • OSHA certified or ability to become certified.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient personal computing/ hand-held technology skills.
  • Analytical, organizational, and planning skills.
  • Process and detail-oriented.
  • Self-starter; results/goal oriented.
  • Ability and willingness to learn.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.

Physical/ Visual/ Mental Demands

  • Position requires ability to observe, react, and move about.
  • Load/unload equipment and materials.
  • Drive a vehicle.
  • Lift 100 pounds.
  • Work with little supervision.
  • Requires use of telephone, computer, and equipment.
  • Exchange information verbally and in writing.
  • Color and depth-perception required.

Typical Working Conditions:

The person in this position will primarily work in an office environment located in Green Bay. Normal working hours Monday-Friday between 7:00am – 4:30pm, and     unique hours are sometimes required for completion of loading and unloading activities.

Nature of Supervision Received:

Works under the general direction of the VP of Operations. Associate has discretionary authority within area of responsibility. Works independently within authority     limits and experience level. Must establish priorities and independently set daily objectives to meet deadlines and address urgent situations as they occur.

Judgement Exercised/ Decisions Made:

Required ability to comprehend and evaluate facts to arrive at a decision consistent with company standards and procedures. Thoroughness and accuracy required to identify a problem and its solution when working with all customers, vendors, and carriers.

Financial Responsibility:

Major injury or damage to company’s materials and property could result in financial loss. A high degree of care is needed in handling of materials and operation of equipment.
